Maroochy River Golf Club – 17th March 2025
The Sunshine Coast District Veteran Golfers Association held its annual 2-Ball Aggregate Stableford event on 17 March 2025 at the Maroochy River Golf Club, a course which is rated at number 71 in Australia.
There was a total of 134 players competing coming from all ten of the Sunshine Coast Veterans golf clubs, each with their partner vying for the winner’s circle.
Winners on the day were John Jones and Michael Phillips from Headland GC with a fine combined Stableford score of 75. Doug Conn and John Miller from Maroochy River GC with a combined score of 73 on a countback from 2 other playing groups came in second.
Phill Edkins the Sunshine Coast Veterans Captain said ‘ The popularity of this 2 ball Aggregate event, where the 2 players scores are combined, gives a team type slant to this Stableford event making it popular with players”.
Phill Edkins also went on to congratulate the Maroochy River Golf Club for the excellent condition of the course despite the recent attack by Cyclone Alfred only a week prior.
